Perspectives on Mega Gifts
David B. Gillig, FAHP
Senior Vice President and Executive Director
Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation. Speaker Biography:
Since 1993, David has served as Senior Vice President, Rady
Children’s Hospital and Health Center and Executive Director, Rady Children’s
Hospital Foundation in San Diego, California. Prior positions include Senior
Vice President, Scripps Foundation for Medicine and Science, and Vice President,
Development & Public Affairs, The Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara.
David oversees fundraising, auxiliaries, in-hospital
volunteers, in-kind philanthropy, media relations and communications at Rady
Children’s Hospital. He serves as Executive Director and as a trustee of Rady
Children’s Hospital Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Rady Children’s.
David has been active in the Association of Healthcare
Philanthropy, serving as a frequent lecturer, conference chair and a director
and treasurer of the international board of directors. He is the current Dean of
Fundraising Management at the Association’s Institute for Healthcare
Philanthropy at the University of Wisconsin. In 1991, David became a Fellow of
the Association. In 1995, the San Diego Chapter of the Association for
Fundraising Professionals named him Development Executive of the Year.
David is past president of the Rotary Club of La Jolla, past
member of the board of directors of Campus Life, North County Chapter. He also
is a past member of the North American board of directors of Children’s Miracle
Network. |
