Increase Your Professionalism and
Advance Your Career by
Becoming a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE)

Whether you are aiming for certification this year or just beginning to investigate the process, this workshop will be helpful. The CFRE designation shows your commitment to your profession and a standard level of knowledge. Earning this designation is a 7-step process that can seem daunting but will be rewarding to you. Led by a long-time CFRE with thorough understanding of the necessary preparation, the workshop will be informal and practical. Its purpose is to provide you with information about preparing for and completing the application and about preparing for and taking the CFRE examination. A panel of CFREs will give their tips for success and answer your questions.

• How to gather the information for the application
• Application deadline(s) and date(s) of the examination
• How to best present yourself in the application
• What preparation is helpful – and what is not – for the exam
• Benefits of earning your CFRE designation
• Learn from a panel of professionals how the CFRE designation has helped them

About the Presenters:

• Janie Anderson, CFRE of Janie Anderson Consulting Services
  For both large and small nonprofit clients – across the spectrum of education, health, library, human services and youth services – Janie Anderson, CFRE is a fundraising consultant who specializes in enhancing the fundraising effectiveness of nonprofit organizations.
  
  Janie first earned the designation of a CFRE in 1991 and was trained to develop items for the CFRE examination. A former board member of the San Diego Chapter of AFP, she was named Outstanding Development Professional by AFP San Diego Chapter in 2004.
