Fundraising Through a Generational Lens
Moderator: Emily Davis, MNM Panelists: Renee Herrell, MA, CFRE Charlene Seidle or Gail Littman Adam Svet Description: Savvy leaders understand that successful and sustained philanthropy is not just an issue for today. In order to ensure evolving issues and challenges are addressed for the long-term, it is critical that nonprofits engage tomorrow’s philanthropists now, connecting with them to build understanding of the needs of the sector and creating strategies to build long-term support. The Next Gen Philanthropy luncheon will bring you up to date on the research, trends and tools regarding this next generation of philanthropists, and how to engage them now for philanthropic support into the future. Learn about the unique needs and communication styles of those who have not yet reached 40, some of which will require new thinking and innovative approaches in your fundraising work. When you reach this generation now, you build an investment for San Diego that will last well past our lifetimes. Bios and Contact Information: Emily Davis, MNM

Presenters: Emily Davis, MNM Sherri Petro Workshop Description: We stand at an unprecedented time in the workplace. Four different generations, each with its own set of needs and communication styles, now work together professionally for the collective good of their organizations. While these various perspectives bring fresh energy to our work, they can also create challenges in communicating and working together effectively to meet the bottom line. This workshop will explore the motivations, expectations and values of every generation, and create understanding of how best to emphasize the strengths of each for maximum effectiveness. Find new strategies that won’t just avoid the pitfalls of multi-generational work, but will embrace generational differences, utilizing the nuances of each staff and volunteer member for enhanced results. Join Emily Davis, MNM from EDA Consulting, LLC and YNPN San Diego and Sherri Petro from VPI Strategies for this innovative conversation, and find a new path to organizational excellence.
