Get Acquainted with the San Diego Chapter

The AFP San Diego Chapter is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for prospective members to learn more about the advantages of membership.

Attend a Chapter Meeting Free of Charge

Each year we offer members the opportunity to bring a prospective member to a chapter meeting free of charge. If you are interested, please work with a current member to fill out a Chapter Meeting Guest Form (see links below) and send it to our Chapter Administrator, Roxanne Shannon at office@afpsd.org or FAX the completed form to 888-423-7237. If approved, we’ll contact you and make the arrangements. Priority will be given to senior level executives and organization board members who may be interested in joining AFP. The AFP San Diego chapter provides 20 guest seats total for the year.

Participate in a Member Orientation

In order to fully understand the benefits of an AFP membership, we encourage both new and prospective members to attend a membership orientation, held at 11:00 a.m. each month before the chapter meetings. To attend, send an email message to office@afpsd.org, please include your name, phone number and email address.

Volunteer

You can also connect with our chapter by volunteering to serve on the membership team. The time commitment is minimal and there are exciting opportunities to help plan and organize the annual membership reception, serve as greeters for the monthly chapter luncheons, assist with strategies to provide excellent service to our existing members, and share the benefits of membership with prospective members throughout the fundraising community.

We hope you believe as strongly in the benefits of an AFP membership as we do, and we are looking to you to help us extend the benefits to others. When you encourage your colleagues, board members, and fellow staff members to join, you introduce them to a new set of resources to assist them in your work. To show our appreciation, you will also receive an incentive gift for the referral:

Refer one new member and receive an AFP mug.

Refer two members and receive free registration for a chapter meeting.

Refer the largest number of new members of everyone by October 15, 2010 and receive a free seat at National Philanthropy Day.
