Fundraising in a Diverse World
David W. Brown

Diversity as we know it has changed. We now have diversity of lifestyle, of tastes and - of course -- ethnicity... so much so that many metropolitan areas are now "minority majority cities" in which people of color represent the mainstream. Fundraising approaches must adapt to these changing conditions and this session will feature marketing techniques that have proven to be effective within an environment where the most important color to pursue is green.

[ David Brown ]

David W. Brown founded BrownPartners as a full service firm reaching multicultural markets using a range of marketing disciplines to motivate and influence consumers of color.

David is one of the few communications executives who have served as Chairman of the Board of both the Philadelphia Advertising Club and the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

A graduate of Duquesne University where he majored in Journalism, David is also a graduate of Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Masters degree in Theology focusing on Public Policy. He has taught or served as a guest lecturer at several institutions including the University of the Arts, Temple University, Lincoln University, Duquesne University and Arcadia University. Brown was recently honored by his alma mater Duquesne University as the 2005 recipient of an award for Excellence in Communications Ethics - the first person of color to receive this prestigious award. Brown was also named Speaker of the Year in 2006 by the Pennsylvania Communication Society - the first African American to receive this honor in more than 20 years. He was also recently named the 2007 Inductee to the Public Relations Hall of Fame by the Philadelphia Public Relations Association - the first African American to be inducted in more than 25 years.
