AFP San Diego The AFP Essentials of Fundraising series is an introductory course on fundraising theory and practice to help organizations raise money more effectively and efficiently. The interactive format includes case studies and projects facilitated by an experienced development professional. Materials include sample solicitation letters, policies, guidelines and other relevant fundraising resources. The focus for the December workshop is on identifying and soliciting annual donors.
AFP San Diego Faculty Bio: Jeanne E. Schmelzer, CFRE Jeanne is senior vice president and southwest regional director with Netzel Associates, Inc. serving San Diego, Las Vegas and Arizona. Jeanne joined the firm following a successful 17-year career as a nonprofit professional mostly in the San Diego area. During those years, she served as vice president of community relations of the United Way of Santa Clara County, executive director of the San Diego Downtown YMCA and associate executive of both the Magdalena Ecke and the Davis/Grossmont YMCAs in San Diego. Jeanne received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from National University, San Diego. She has been an active Rotarian since 1991 and is currently a member of the San Diego Rotary Club-#33. She has served on several boards including the Rotary Club of Santa Clara, Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Central branch of the YMCA of Santa Clara, and Notre Dame High School- San Jose. Jeanne now serves as a board member of AFP-San Diego Chapter, the Downtown YMCA in San Diego and the faculty at University of Southern California, extended studies in development. |
