2007-2008 Colette M. Murray Fellows Program

Applications are now being accepted for the 2007-2008 Colette M. Murray Fellows Program.

The Colette M. Murray Fellows Program is an outreach initiative of AFP San Diego Chapter to encourage diversity within our profession. The program is intended to reach persons from and/or persons working with nonprofit organizations in San Diego county serving people of color and/or GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transgender) communities. The Chapter’s objective is to offer our educational resources and the collective professional expertise of our membership – in accessible and user-friendly formats – to assist individuals in building their organization’s capacity and professional fundraising skills.

Benefits of being selected as a Murray Fellow include:

• Complimentary annual AFP International/San Diego Chapter memberships for two years (currently valued at $160 per year)
   
• Complimentary admittance to monthly (10 scheduled each year) Chapter /luncheon programs in the first year (approximate value, $250)
   
• Complimentary Admission to Chapter Workshops (usually held prior to monthly luncheons)
   
• Scholarships to Chapter Training Conferences (additional application required)
   
• Complimentary participation in the AFP San Diego mentoring program
   
• Complimentary ticket to annual AFP Philanthropy Day

Active participation is expected. From time to time, Murray Fellows will be asked to provide volunteer assistance at AFP Chapter events, such as National Philanthropy Day in November.
