Envision Yourself as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE)!

As a fundraising professional, practicing ethical fundraising and serving society, you deserve the CFRE mark of distinction and the rewards associated with it.

The AFP - San Diego Chapter can help make this a reality by attending:

THE CFRE REVIEW COURSE

Course Overview:

The AFP CFRE Review Course (formerly the Survey Course) provided through the AFP San Diego Chapter on September 7 and 8, 2006, offers development professionals an opportunity to review the main components of a complete fund-raising program. It is a two-day, intensive program that focuses on the terminology, organization and structure of a development operation.

Topics:

  • history of philanthropy
  • laying the foundation for fund development
  • defining an integrated development program
  • making the case
  • volunteers and staff: roles, responsibilities, and relationships
  • identifying, involving, and retaining current and prospective donors
  • annual giving and fund-raising methods
  • planned giving
  • capital giving

Who Should Attend?

The course is geared for those who have been in the fundraising profession for five years or more. It will provide participants with updated information, help them assess their capabilities in each of these areas of learning above and assist them in preparing to earn their Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2006 or beyond. Although some participants have already applied for their CFRE examination, there is no requirement that participants do so to qualify for this CFRE Review Course.

CFRE Professional Certification Program:

A Mark of Distinction

“Certified Fund Raising Executive” (CFRE) is a mark of distinction, providing heightened professional recognition and greater career options and earning potential for fundraising professionals. The CFRE credential provides you with a way to demonstrate your achievements, integrity and mastery of philanthropic fundraising to your employer, colleagues, potential donors and the community at large. It also sends the message that you are committed to upholding the Donor Bill of Rights and a defined set of accountability standards as well as continuing your professional growth through ongoing education. More employers are either requiring or preferring CFRE qualifications, and CFREs in the U.S. earn 17% more than their non-certified professional colleagues.

For information regarding applying for the CFRE examination and for an application you can download, contact CFRE International at www.cfre.org , or call Morgean Hirt, Executive Director or Sharon Thomas, Certification Manager, at 703.370.5555. Sharon’s e-mail address is sthomas@cfre.org .
