Getting Corporate Support Right!
This program will focus on issues related to
corporate giving, innovative strategies to build corporate
relationships and the steps necessary to strengthen these
relationships, closing corporate gifts and keeping partnerships with
companies over the long term. The session will include specific
strategic tips and will examine how corporate leaders view their
corporate giving as well as strategies for reaching top corporate
decision-makers. Also discussed will be the steps any organization
should take when seeking corporate support, including the necessary
internal policies and procedures that form the foundation for
success.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to:
- Learn how companies and corporate executives think about
corporate giving
- Lean how to work up the corporate ladder to top decision
makers
- Implement ways to effectively involve top corporate
leadership with your organization
- Develop the necessary policies and procedures needed for
a strong corporate giving program

- 10:00 am - 11:30 am Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes
early as the audio conference begins promptly.

Exit CA-209 S/Rosecrans St. & bear right to stay on Rosecrans
St. Continue on Rosecrans to Midway, and make a U-turn heading
back the way you came. Go right at first street (Sports Arena)
and park on street outside Big Lots parking lot.

Take the I-5 S exit to Rosecrans St. Bear left onto the CA-209 S
ramp to Rosecrans St. Continue on Rosecrans to Midway, and make
a U-turn heading back the way you came. Go right at first street
(Sports Arena) and park on street outside Big Lots parking lot.

From I-5 North:
Exit onto Pacific Hwy. Take the Barnett Ave exit from the left
lane. Bear right at end of off-ramp onto Midway Dr. Turn right
at Rosecrans St and right again onto Sports Arena. Park on
street outside Big Lots parking lot.

About the Presenter:

Gene Scanlan is president of eScanlan
Company, a nonprofit management consulting firm. He has worked
with local, regional, national and international clients. Prior
to starting his own firm in 2001 he spent 18 years as vice
president and senior vice president of a major national
consulting firm. Gene has served as a foundation program officer
and fiscal manager at The Chicago Community Trust, the
foundation officer for The Brookings Institution, and the
director of development for Defenders of Wildlife. His academic
appointments include: adjunct associate professor at the
University of Maryland University College; associate
professorial lecturer in international affairs, Elliott School
of International Affairs, George Washington University; member
of the advisory council for the George Mason University
Nonprofit Management Program; and certified on-line instructor.
He chairs AFP’s Research Council, serves on the steering
committee for the professional advancement division and is a
board member of AFP’s D.C. Chapter. He is the author of
Corporate and Foundation Fund Raising.
